Each month, SOT provides an update on activities and events of importance to the toxicology community through the release of the “Around the World of Toxicology” blog. Please note that only activities by societies and professional associations (i.e., nonprofits) will be considered. Reminders of Upcoming, Previously Featured Deadlines and Activities
- October 30 is the deadline to submit an abstract for the 12th Congress of Toxicology in Developing Countries, taking place April 15–18, 2024, in Santiago, Chile, and early-bird registration ends on November 30. This event is being hosted by the Sociedad de Toxicología de Chile and the International Union of Toxicology (IUTOX).
- Registration opens on November 6 for the next EUROTOX Faculty Webinar, “Why Is Developmental and Reproductive Toxicity Testing Important in Risk Assessment?” The webinar will be held on November 28.
- The Joint American-Israeli Medical Toxicology Conference, co-hosted by the American College of Medical Toxicology (ACMT), originally scheduled for November 7–9, 2023, in Haifa, Israel, has been postponed.
- The National Association for Biomedical Research (NABR) is hosting a webinar on November 8, 2023, titled “Review of the Veterinary Consortium for Research Animal Care and Welfare (VCRACW) Guide Revision Survey.”
- An “International Equity Summit” is being hosted virtually by the National Postdoctoral Association (NPA) on November 9.
- The deadline to submit an abstract for the 2024 ACMT Annual Scientific Meeting is November 15, 2023. The meeting is taking place April 12–14, 2024, at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, DC.
- The Society for Birth Defects Research and Prevention (BDRP) is hosting a virtual course on human teratogens November 13–15, 2023.
- During an IUTOXtalks webinar on November 15, SOT member Ivan Rusyn, PhD, MD, will discuss “Using Key Characteristics of Human Carcinogens to Organize and Evaluate Carcinogenic Hazards.”
- The 38th Annual Scientific Meeting of the British Society of Toxicological Pathology (BSTP) will be November 15–16, 2023, in Verona, Italy. The meeting theme is “Preclinical Translatability and Pathology of Cell-Based Therapies.”

Early-Bird registration for the STC 55th Annual Symposium ends on October 31. This year’s event is themed “Advances and Innovations in Integrated and Translational Toxicology” and is taking place December 3–5, 2023, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Montréal, Québec, Canada.

US Food and Drug Administration (US FDA)
