Artificial Intelligence in Drug Discovery Takes Center Stage for 2024 SOT

I am thrilled to announce that Chris Gibson, PhD, the Co-founder and CEO of Recursion, will be our Opening Plenary Speaker for the SOT 63rd Annual Meeting and ToxExpo, taking place March 10–14, 2024, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Recursion, which is based in Salt Lake City, is at the forefront of leveraging radical technological innovations, such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, to revolutionize therapeutics discovery, making the process more efficient and scalable. Dr. Gibson, a graduate of Rice University with degrees in bioengineering and management and a PhD from the University of Utah, will discuss how artificial intelligence, biology, chemistry, automation, data science, and engineering are converging to modernize drug discovery and development.

I also am pleased to announce that the SOT Scientific Program Committee has approved 69 sessions for the 2024 meeting. The schedule of these sessions, as well as abstracts and individual presentation titles, is now accessible through the newly launched SOT Online Planner. The SOT Online Planner is a comprehensive resource containing details on all Symposia, Workshops, Roundtables, and more.

Registrants of the 2024 meeting can use the SOT Online Planner to craft a personalized schedule, bookmark sessions of interest, and add notes. Remember to take advantage of the meeting’s early-bird registration rates, available until January 19.
