SOT and ACT Release the 12th Triennial Toxicology Salary Survey

By Laurie Haws posted 27 days ago

The 12th Triennial Toxicology Salary Survey is now available through Open Access in the International Journal of Toxicology.

Some of the key takeaways from the survey are that women continue to be compensated at lower levels than men despite the steady increase in representation of women in the field. In addition, a major determinant of salary is employer type versus geographic location. Finally, certification appears to play a positive role in employee compensation. For more conclusions and information, read the full analysis of the 12th Triennial Toxicology Salary Survey.

The survey, conducted in partnership between SOT and the American College of Toxicology (ACT), contains data from members of 10 organizations: Academy of Toxicological Sciences, ACT, American Board of Toxicology, Environmental Mutagenesis and Genomics Society, Roundtable of Toxicology Consultants, Safety Pharmacology Society, Society for Birth Defects Research, Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry, Society of Toxicologic Pathology, and SOT. The data was analyzed by Shayne C. Gad (PhD, DABT), Dexter Sullivan Jr. (MS, DABT), and Danika A. Pitts (MBA).
