The SOT Graduate Student Leadership Committee organizes the Chat with an Expert program each year as part of the SOT Annual Meeting and ToxExpo!
Participation in this program is a wonderful opportunity for you to contribute and give back to the SOT community by helping trainees navigate their next career steps.
We are looking for enthusiastic toxicologists (from all walks of life and career stages) to meet with trainees interested in toxicology careers, as well as postdoctoral scholars to meet with graduate students interested in pursuing a postdoctoral program.
To register as an expert, please complete the short sign-up form by Monday, January 8. Experts are asked to provide:
- Information on their scientific interests and professional background
- Input on their availability and mentee matching preferences
Trainees will then be able to select matches based on the information that you provide. You will receive notice via email in advance of the Annual Meeting if you are successfully matched with a trainee(s). You then select the day, time, and location in Salt Lake City to meet for the chat. A typical Chat with an Expert meeting consists of a chat over coffee, a walk through the posters, or simply an informal meeting in a relatively quiet area of the convention center.
