The Society has learned that longtime member Douglas James Fort, PhD, passed away on September 23, 2024. Dr. Fort earned his MS and PhD in zoology from Oklahoma State University in 1988 and 1990, respectively, and joined SOT in 1996. Dr. Fort was well-respected for the development and validation of numerous toxicological test methods, including short-term embryo-larval assays, EDSP amphibian metamorphosis assays, reptilian reproduction and developmental assays, and fish developmental and reproduction assays.
