Each month, SOT provides an update on activities and events of importance to the toxicology community through the release of the “Around the World of Toxicology” blog. To submit an event, opportunity, or information for consideration for inclusion in the monthly “Around the World of Toxicology” blog, complete the special submission form for “Around the World of Toxicology” items. Please note that only activities by societies and professional associations (i.e., nonprofits) will be considered. Federation of European Toxicologists and European Societies of Toxicology (EUROTOX)

Registration and abstract submission are now open for the 59th Congress of the European Societies of Toxicology (EUROTOX 2025), taking place September 14-17, 2025, in Athens, Greece. The abstract submission deadline is March 31, 2025, while the early-bird registration deadline is May 15, 2025.

EUROTOX also is accepting nominations for its Merit Award and 2025 EUROTOX Lecture award. The Merit Award honors lifetime contributions to European toxicology, while the EUROTOX Lecture award honors individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the science of drug and chemical toxicology or related areas. Nominations for both awards are due January 31, 2025.

International Neurotoxicology Association (INA)

A call for abstracts has been issued for the 19th Biannual Meeting of the International Neurotoxicology Association. The meeting is taking place September 7–12, 2025, in Sommarøy, Norway. The deadline for abstract submissions is February 15, 2025.

International Union of Toxicology (IUTOX)

The next IUTOX Risk Assessment Summer School program is taking place February 9–15, 2025, in São Paulo, Brazil. The course offers young toxicologists the opportunity to broaden their knowledge and experience in chemical risk assessment.

National Association for Biomedical Research (NABR)

On January 14, 2025, NABR is hosting a webinar titled “The FY 2024 USDA Oversight Process.” Each year NABR obtains information from the USDA’s Animal Care Inspection System database using the Public Search Tool to review the inspection results for the previous fiscal year and provides a review and analysis of that information. This webinar will share the NABR annual review of the inspection data.
