Each month, SOT provides an update on activities and events of importance to the toxicology community through the release of the “Around the World of Toxicology” blog. Please note that only activities by societies and professional associations (i.e., nonprofits) will be considered. American Academy of Clinical Toxicology (AACT)
The AACT Occupational and Environmental Toxicology Section is hosting a webinar on May 6 titled “Biolab Fire and Chemical Release Response.” The presentation will cover the Biolabs plant fire in Convyers, Georgia, on September 29, 2024, and the coordinated public health and poison center response.

World Congress on Alternatives and Animal Use in the Life Sciences
The theme of the 13th World Congress on Alternatives and Animal Use in the Life Sciences, taking place August 31–September 4, 2025, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is “3Rs Integrating 3 Worlds: Human, Animal, and Environmental Health.” The late-breaking abstract submission deadline is May 15, 2025.
