SOT Honorary member and Nobel Laureate Sir John Gurdon, DPhil, DSc, FRS, passed away on October 7, 2025. Dr. Gurdon was a pioneering researcher in developmental and stem cell biology, and he was honored with the Nobel Prize in 2012 for his discovery that mature adult stem cells can be reprogrammed into an embryonic stem cell state.
