SOT has learned that SOT Past President (1988–1989) James E. Gibson, PhD, passed away on November 22, 2025. Throughout his career, Dr. Gibson worked in various sectors, including academia, nonprofit, and industry. The common thread was his commitment to training in all areas of toxicology and ensuring that risk assessments were based on sound science instead of opinion.
