Are you an undergraduate or graduate student passionate about toxicology and seeking meaningful ways to advance your career? SOT has an opportunity designed just for you: the Experiential Opportunities Career Development Award. Recently renamed to better reflect its mission, this award supports students from underrepresented groups in the sciences as they pursue transformative educational and career development experiences.

What Is the Award?

The Experiential Opportunities Career Development Award provides up to $1,000 to help fund activities that enhance professional development in toxicology or a related field. Whether it’s attending a specialized workshop, participating in a short course, or engaging in a unique research experience, this award can help you take the next step in your journey. Virtual and in-person activities are eligible. 

Who Is Eligible?

To apply, you must:

  • Be enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited US institution in a STEM-related major or a program related to toxicology.

  • Alternatively, be in your first year of a formal postbaccalaureate research position.

  • Be an SOT Undergraduate Student Affiliate or Graduate Student member.

  • Propose an activity that begins at least one month after the application deadline.

Important Dates

  • Application Deadlines: April 30 and October 31
