The 2026 SOT Award Season is Underway!

It’s that time of year again! SOT is pleased to announce the opening of Award Season for 2026, offering an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of SOT members who are advancing the field of toxicology through research, service, mentoring, and education. 

Celebrating Excellence in Toxicology  

Each year, the Society honors exceptional scientists through the SOT Awards program. These awards are presented by various SOT Committees, Regional Chapters, Specialty Sections, Special Interest Groups, and related organizations. Many awards include stipends or other financial support. For full instructions on how to nominate a colleague or apply for an award, visit the individual award pages using the search or filter tools available on the “Search for SOT Awards” web page.  

Award Distribution and Deadlines  

SOT distributes hundreds of awards annually, with many presented during the SOT Annual Meeting and ToxExpo. While some awards require a nomination, others involve a formal application. Annual Meeting–related awards have deadlines ranging from September to February.  

Types of Awards 

  • SOT Awards: These awards are conferred by the SOT Awards Committee and other Society Committees to recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to toxicology or demonstrated excellence in mentorship and education. Nominations and applications are due October 9. 

  • Undergraduate Student Awards: These awards provide recognition and travel support for undergraduate students, including those from diverse backgrounds who are exploring careers in toxicology and related sciences. Applications are due October 15. 

  • Abstract and Travel Awards: Members can search “travel” on the SOT Awards page to locate awards that help offset expenses to attend the Annual Meeting. Most of these awards require an accepted abstract. Deadlines vary by award. 

  • SOT Component Group Awards: SOT Regional Chapters, Special Interest Groups, and Specialty Sections offer many awards to acknowledge the achievements of toxicologists, with a particular focus on graduate students and postdoctoral researchers. Deadlines vary. 

Support Through the SOT Endowment Fund  

Many of these awards are made possible through the support of the SOT Endowment Fund. To help sustain these programs and further the Society’s mission to advance toxicology, consider making a contribution to the Endowment Fund.
