The SOT Education and Experiential Opportunities Committee encourages students to further their knowledge of toxicology by applying for one of the following awards.
Undergraduate and graduate students, as well as persons in the first year of a formal postbaccalaureate research position could receive an award up to $1000. This award is intended to allow the recipient to engage in additional educational and career development opportunities to enhance their professional development towards a career in toxicology or a related field.
Postdoctoral applicants will identify professional development workshops, short courses, or activities that would provide training outside of their current academic, governmental, or industrial postdoctoral program. An award of up to $1000 would assist with the costs associated with additional training related to toxicology that will broaden a postdoc’s expertise and prepare them for the competitive job market.
Graduate students will identify professional development workshops, short courses, or events that would help with an unmet need, not provided by their graduate program. The award of up to $1000 would assist with closing the skill gap and enhancing the student’s career opportunities. The supplemental training must be outside the available resources of the applicant’s graduate training and research program and be related to career goals
For all of the above awards, request for reimbursements of the activities must occur by June 2026.
