Undergraduate research in toxicology can be a life-changing experience for students. This research often propels students to pursue careers related to toxicology. SOT wants to help foster a student’s interest in toxicology by recognizing outstanding undergraduate research through the SOT Undergraduate Research Award.

The SOT Education and Experiential Opportunities Committee (EEOC) encourages undergraduates with research to present at the 2025 SOT Annual Meeting to apply for the SOT Undergraduate Research Award. The deadline for the application is October 15. Applicants also must submit an abstract by October 15 to be eligible. Please note the abstract is due earlier than the standard November 13 abstract submission deadline.

The EEOC conducts an intensive review to determine the recipients of this award. Award recipients receive recognition and support to attend the SOT Annual Meeting and ToxExpo. This includes complementary registration, travel and lodging support, and participation in special activities

SOT members who mentor or know undergraduate researchers can help the students and SOT by encouraging them to apply. We look forward to seeing and recognizing the efforts of these students at the 2025 SOT Annual Meeting and ToxExpo in Orlando, Florida.

Additional award opportunities are available for undergraduate students and faculty. Some of the awards available include the Undergraduate Diversity Program Student Travel Awards and the Undergraduate Diversity Program Advisor Travel Awards. Undergraduates are also eligible for multiple SOT Component Group awards.
