Like most SOT members, speakers, poster presenters, exhibitors, and many others, members of the SOT Scientific Program Committee (SPC) and Continuing Education Committee (CEC) continue to prepare for the 2026 Annual Meeting later this month in San Diego. Yet for the SPC and CEC, planning has already started for the 2027 Annual Meeting, which will be held in San Antonio.
A few weeks after the 2026 Annual Meeting, SPC and CEC will host the annual proposal development webinar, on Monday, April 6, at 1:00 pm (US EDT, UTC -4). Included will be important information that will cover the essentials and help you increase the likelihood of having your proposal selected. Q&A breaks throughout the webinar will offer ample opportunity to direct inquiries to members of both the SPC and the CEC.
The goal of the webinar is to provide participants with insight from the perspective of the SPC and CEC that will aid attendees in preparing top-quality, competitive proposals.
Beginning with the 2027 Annual Meeting, there will be significant changes to the structure of the Scientific Sessions, including revised session-type designations and durations. These will be covered during the webinar.
Be sure to SAVE THE DATE, April 6, now so that you can attend this important webinar, titled “Developing Competitive Scientific Session Proposals.” The webinar also will be recorded. Attending the live webinar is highly encouraged, as that will allow you to ask questions during the webinar.
Who is invited to attend this webinar? SOT members, Specialty Section and Special Interest Group leaders, and SOT Committees, such as the Graduate Student Leadership Committee and Postdoctoral Assembly, who are official endorsers of Scientific Sessions and Continuing Education courses. Registration is free but required, so register today!
The 2027 Scientific Session Proposal Site will open in late March and will remain open until 11:59 pm (US EDT, UTC -4) on Friday, May 15.
Remember that networking during the upcoming SOT Annual Meeting and ToxExpo at events such as Special Interest Group and Specialty Section receptions can be a great way to make connections as you think about submitting a proposal for 2027!
