Nazzareno (Ned) Ballatori passed away on December 25, 2011, at the age of 54. He was a Distinguished Professor of Environmental Medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. Since 2003 he was the deputy director of the University of Rochester’s National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) Center of Excellence. He joined SOT in 1989 and was a member of the Lake Ontario Regional Chapter and Metals Specialty Section.
