The Society of Toxicology Graduate Education Subcommittee and Education Committee are pleased to announce SOT is offering additional STEP funding for professional development activities to obtain additional training that enhances career opportunities. Approximately four awards of up to $1,000 each are available to enable outstanding doctoral students to pursue training in identified areas of professional/scientific development that are necessary for them to achieve their career goals, but outside the immediate scope of their graduate training and research program. Experiences like those above or similar to those below might be proposed, and we encourage applicants to think creatively and not hesitate to think out of the box for the proposed experience. For example, an applicant might propose from among the following:
•Professional development courses geared toward government-based specialties
•Writing skill enhancement
•PK training
•Statistical and software training
•Grant writing and management opportunities
•Risk assessment skill development
