Undergraduate Diversity Program Student and Advisor Travel Awards

These awards offer travel support to attend the three-day Undergraduate Diversity Program during the 2020 SOT Annual Meeting in Anaheim, California, March 15–19, 2020. Sophomores and juniors are preferred, and eligibility criteria include at least one of the following: students from diverse backgrounds, including groups underrepresented in the sciences; first-generation college attendees; UDP 2019.pngor students from a primarily undergraduate institution that does not confer graduate degrees in biomedical disciplines. Faculty who are not SOT members and advise students from these groups also may apply.

SOT recognizes the need for and importance of diversity and inclusiveness in toxicology, especially during the early educational–career development formation of students from diverse backgrounds in science. Each year, approximately 35 students have the opportunity to attend the meeting and this specialized program thanks to your nominations. Please share this information with students and encourage them to apply to these award opportunities by October 18, 2019.

More information on the student travel award is available on the “Undergraduate Diversity Program Student Travel Awards” web page on the SOT website. The “Undergraduate Diversity Program Advisor Travel Awards” web page offers additional details on the advisor award.
