In the Look Inside ToxSci feature this month, Editor-in-Chief Gary W. Miller reflects on the success of the 2015 SOT Annual Meeting and provides a look ahead to the next Annual Meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana, March 13–17, 2016. Dr. Miller is in the photograph (from left to right) with SOT 2014–2015 President Norbert E. Kaminski, 2015 Annual Meeting Plenary Lecturer J. Craig Venter, Dr. Miller, and SOT 2015–2016 President Peter L. Goering.
Dr. Miller comments in this issues that: “This is a very exciting time of year for members of the Society of Toxicology. The annual meeting has just adjourned, and many are working on proposals for next year’s meeting. We were treated with outstanding scientific sessions and were able to reconnect with our colleagues from all over the world. The robust international participation in San Diego mirrors the submissions ToxSci receives. I encourage the meeting participants to submit their exciting findings to ToxSci, and, in return, the journal promises to provide expert peer review and assures that published papers are widely promoted and disseminated....I am also pleased that this month’s issue features an outstanding Contemporary Review by Dietert and Silbergeld on biomarkers and the microbiome. The microbiome has become a focal point for biomedical research, and the implications for toxicology are vast. This insightful and forward-thinking piece is a must-read for those interested in the microbiome. As always, I encourage the readers to look inside ToxSci for the best original research in the field of toxicology. “
This month’s Editorial, Society of Toxicology Board of Publications Best Paper Award for 2015, again honors those papers receiving this prestigious award and highlights the meritous articles that received Honorable Mentions as well.
The mission of ToxSci, the official journal of the Society of Toxicology, is to publish the most influential research in the field of toxicology.
