USDA Comment Period on Appropriate Standards for Primates in Research Petition Extended to August 31

The National Association for Biomedical Research (NABR), of which the Society of Toxicology is a member, announced on June 29, 2015, that officials at the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) have extended the comment period for Docket#APHIS 2014‑0098, the “Petition to Develop Specific Ethologically Appropriate Standards for Nonhuman Primates in Research,” to Monday, August 31, 2015. This petition was submitted to the Animal Plant Health and Inspection Service (APHIS) by the New England Anti-Vivisection Society, The North American Primate Sanctuary Alliance, the Laboratory Primate Advocacy Group, and Animal League Defense Fund.
