On Tuesday, November 18, 2014, the US Congress passed H.R.1422—EPA Science Advisory Board Reform Act of 2013. The White House posted an Statement of Administration Policy regarding this bill on November 17, 2014. The bill is to amend the Environmental Research, Development, and Demonstration Authorization Act of 1978 to provide for Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) member qualifications, public participation, and for other purposes. The SAB provides advice to the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The vote on the bill passed 229 to 191 largely along partisan lines.
