Opportunities To Become More Involved in SOT Include the 2015 SOT Annual Meeting!!

There are many ways to increase your participation in the Society of Toxicology (SOT) by volunteering to help with programs and activities that are of particular interest to you by using the Volunteer Form. SOT Volunteers are the heart of the Society. Our strength is the result of the time and effort provided by SOT members at every stage of their career.

For example, you can offer your assistance at the 2015 SOT Annual Meeting in San Diego, California, March 22–26, 2015. You will find volunteer opportunities that are the right fit for you, whether you can commit a year, a month, or a day. Consider hosting an undergraduate student, serving as a toxicology expert during an informal graduate student lunch, promoting the Society’s programs and activities at the SOT Pavilion, or offering to serve as a member of an SOT Committee or Task Force. SOT leadership reviews these volunteer submissions when selecting members for appointment or nomination to elected positions and will begin the process in mid-November. You are encouraged to submit your preferences on the Volunteer Form by no later than Thursday, November 13. To learn more about the SOT Elected and Appointed Committees, please visit the SOT website.

If you volunteered previously, you are aware that not every volunteer can be placed when and where requested. However, please indicate your interest on the Volunteer Form this year to reaffirm your willingness to serve. In addition, please contact the leadership of your Regional Chapter, Special Interest Group, or Specialty Section to find out how you can become more involved in those groups.
