The Society of Toxicology (SOT) has learned of the passing of Edward W. Carney on January 12, 2015. He held the position of Scientific Director–Toxicology Research, Dow Chemical Company, Midland, Michigan. He was a Past President of the SOT Reproductive and Developmental Toxicology Speciality Section (SS) and a member of the Mixtures SS and the Michigan Regional Chapter of the Society. In addition, he was also a member of the Organizing Committee of the SOT Contemporary Concepts in Toxicology (CCT) Conference, FutureTox II: In Vitro and In Silico Models for Predictive Toxicology.
