Below is an April 21, 2015, message to SOT Headquarters that may be of interest to you.
______________
I am writing to ask your help in identifying a diverse range of qualified candidates to be considered for the Administrator’s appointment to the US Environmental Protection Agency’s Clean Air Scientific Advisory Committee (CASAC).
The CASAC was established under section 109(d)(2) of the Clean Air Act (CAA or Act) (42 U.S.C. 7409) as an independent scientific advisory committee. The CASAC provides advice, information, and recommendations on the scientific and technical aspects of air quality criteria and NAAQS under sections 108 and 109 of the Act.
The Science Advisory Board Staff Office announced in the Federal Register the opportunity to nominate experts in a variety of science disciplines. I invite you to nominate candidates for the committee and to share this request with interested individuals at your institution.
Nominations should be made using the web nomination form by selecting “Nomination of Experts” on the blue navigation bar. Nominations are sought by May 4, 2015. Should you have questions about the nomination process or the broad charge to the CASAC, please contact me by email at yeow.aaron@epa.gov or by phone at 202.564. 2050.
Thank you in advance for your assistance in identifying a diverse set of expert candidates for the CASAC.
