Thematic Sessions Focus on Timely Topics of Relevance to Toxicology: Toxic Cell-Death

Sten G. Orrenius, Karolinska Institute of Environmental Medicine, Stockholm Sweden and William Slikker Jr., US FDA NCTR, Jefferson, Arkansas, are the co-chairs of symposium session, “Toxic Cell-Death: Signaling Pathways, Cross Talk, and High-Throughput Analysis” to be held on Monday, March 12, 2:00 pm-4:00 pm, Room 308, Moscone Convention Center.

The session abstract notes that “This program will cover important toxicity mechanisms in multiple target organs and will hopefully contribute to a better understanding of the role of cell death mechanisms in toxic insult and disease.” Dr. Orrenius is an Honorary Member who later joined the Society as a Full member, and he was the recipient of the 2006 SOT Distinguished Lifetime Toxicology Scholar Award. Session presenters include 2012–2013 SOT Vice President Dr. Slikker and 2012–2013 Councilor Donald A. Fox.
