Dr. Pedro L. Del Valle completed his undergraduate work in marine biology in Colombia, a MS in environmental toxicology and a PhD in toxicology at the University of Maryland. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Toxicological Sciences (ATS). Dr. Del Valle is currently a Supervisor Interdisciplinary Scientists supporting bening hematology drug products in the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER) of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Dr. Del Valle has worked in early discovery, lead optimization and nonclinical development of small molecule pharmaceuticals and biologics with more than 20 years of experience in general toxicology, carcinogenicity, and reproductive toxicology studies and in Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and regulatory toxicology. Dr. Del Valle is passionate about mentoring students and peers and participates in the Chat with an Expert, HOT mentoring, and CDI activities. He is currently a member of the SOT Awards Committee and HOT Advisory Committee.
