I am currently a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Connecticut, where my work focuses on the role of transporter proteins in hepatic and adipose tissue physiology. My broader research interests include preclinical models related to diabetes, its complications, and cardiovascular diseases.
I earned my Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from NMIMS University, Mumbai, India, in 2022, and hold a Master’s degree in Pharmacology and Toxicology from the University of Mumbai. Throughout my academic and research career, I have authored 38 peer-reviewed publications, contributing to our understanding of diabetes pathophysiology, transporter mechanisms, and toxicological processes.
As an active member of the Society of Toxicology since 2022, I’ve had the opportunity to present my work at national and regional conferences. I was honored with the Sheldon D. Murphy Postdoctoral Endowment Award by the Mechanism Specialty Section at the 2025 SOT Annual Meeting in Orlando and received a Postdoctoral Poster Presentation Award at the Northeast Regional SOT meeting held at Pfizer, Boston, in 2024. I was also selected as a finalist for the Gabriel Plaa Educational Award for my research on drug-induced liver injury.
In addition to research, I actively contribute to the scientific community as a reviewer for several journals. I’ve also served as a guest editor for Frontiers in Fungal Biology in 2022 and as a topic coordinator for a special issue in Frontiers in Endocrinology.
