Bio

Giselle Sanchez-Guerrero, Bs. In Biochemistry from the University of Santiago de Chile. Currently, I am a Ph.D. (c) graduate student in Toxicology in Dr. Hartmut Jaeschke’s laboratory in the Department of Pharmacology, Toxicology, and Therapeutics at the University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC).
My research focuses on understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms of acetaminophen (APAP) hepatotoxicity. My project is specifically about the study of sterile inflammation after liver injury, especially in terms of how cell communication influences liver injury and recovery. My career goal is to be a competent scientist who can combine benchwork with computational techniques and integrate knowledge to understand cell mechanisms. Particularly for their use in translational applications to impact human health. I am particularly interested in clinical immunotoxicology and hepatotoxicity.
