Bio

As a Professor in the Rutgers Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy, I instruct Pharm.D., M.S., and Ph.D. students in biochemical and molecular pharmacology and toxicology and conduct NIH-funded research on the interplay between transporter proteins and environmental chemicals and pharmaceuticals.

I'm passionate about the training of students and clinicians in translational research as evidenced by re-design of the PharmD curriculum, leadership in the PharmD/PhD Program, and expansion of our Summer Intern Program. Our research team of basic and clinical scientists uses state-of-the-art technologies to translate findings in cell culture and rodent models to patients. Areas of active research include the protection of the brain from neurotoxicity, the kidneys against drug-induced toxicity, and the maternal-fetal transfer of drugs and chemicals.
