The US Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) is seeking nominations for its Science Advisory Board and two committees associated with the Clean Air Act.
First, the US EPA is accepting nominations of individuals to serve on its Science Advisory Board. This board provides “independent scientific and technical peer review, consultation, advice, and recommendations to the EPA Administrator on the scientific bases for EPA's actions and programs.” A wide variety of expertise is needed for the board, including experts in chemical safety, dose-response assessment, epidemiology, exposure assessment, risk assessment, toxicology, and other related fields. Nominations are due March 2.

In addition, the agency is looking for individuals to serve on its Clean Air Act Advisory Committee. This committee “provides advice, information and recommendations on policy and technical issues associated with implementation of the Clean Air Act (CAA) as requested by EPA. These issues include the development, implementation, and enforcement of programs required by the Act.” Nominations are due by March 30, 2023.

The US EPA also is soliciting nominations for its Clean Air Scientific Advisory Committee. Specifically, the agency needs individuals to fulfill its requirement of members representing state air pollution control agencies. These individuals should have expertise in one or more of the following areas: air quality, biostatistics, ecology, environmental engineering, epidemiology, exposure assessment, medicine, risk assessment, and toxicology. Nominations are due February 27, 2023.
