In Memoriam: Richard Michael LoPachin

The Society has learned that longtime SOT member Richard Michael LoPachin, PhD, passed away on September 4, 2023. For the last 20+ years of his career, Dr. LoPachin was a professor at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, specializing in neurotoxicological research. Members are encouraged to read Dr. LoPachin’s obituary.

Very sad to learn.  In addition to being a fantastic impactful scientist, I will remember him fondly.  I When I was an Assistant Professor and new NIH grant reviewer decades ago, he went out of the way to welcome me to this community and served as my unofficial role model.
