The Society has learned that member Bernard A. Schwetz, DVM, PhD, passed away on December 31, 2023. After a career in industry, Dr. Schwetz spent 25 years working for the US government, including as the Director of the National Center for Toxicological Research, Chief Scientist of the US Food and Drug Administration (US FDA), and Deputy and Acting Commissioner of the US FDA. Members are encouraged to read Dr. Schwetz’s obituary.
