Support for Strong NIH Budget
On September 19, 2025, 76 organizations, including SOT, sent a letter to the leadership of the US House of Representatives and US Senate supporting an appropriations bill that protects the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and provides at least $48.7 billion in funding for FY2026. Per the letter, “With longstanding support from bipartisan majorities, Congress has empowered NIH to advance research that has improved our nation’s health and quality of life. Discoveries made with NIH support have led to myriad innovations that treat, cure, and prevent disease.” You can read the complete letter on the SOT website.
