In response to a membership-expressed desire to include more timely research in the SOT Annual Meeting, the Society is seeking proposals for a Hot Topic session for the Virtual 2021 Annual Meeting.
The Hot Topic session(s) will be programmed as a 90-minute session and offers an opportunity for the presentation and discussion of the timeliest toxicology-related science during the SOT Annual Meeting. Proposal topics should focus on toxicology-related issues that have either arisen since the deadline for regular session proposals or peaked with regard to interest on the part of the scientific community and/or public.
As with other 90-minute sessions, proposals should include the names and affiliations of the session Chair and two or three presenters (no more than three presenters) and an abstract describing the overall session, as well as sufficiently detailed abstracts for each presentation topic.
Proposals should be submitted as an MS Word document and should be emailed to SOT directly (use of the Oasis-provided Proposal Submission Site is not required). Proposals will be evaluated by the Scientific Program Committee in February. An example of a proposal is available on the “Preparing Proposals” web page of the Annual Meeting website.
For the 2021 Annual Meeting, Hot Topic proposals are due by Friday, February 5.
If you have any questions on the Hot Topic proposal process, please email SOT Headquarters.
