The 2022 SOT Annual Meeting in San Diego Is Proceeding and Adhering to All Health and Safety Protocols

By Myrtle Davis posted 01-06-2022 16:06

Like the rest of the world, SOT leadership is monitoring the surge in COVID-19 cases attributed to the omicron variant and resultant public health concerns.

SOT is proceeding with an in-person meeting for San Diego and will continue to adhere to all local and national guidelines associated with in-person events, including the already announced proof of vaccination requirement for on-site attendance. Please consult the “Health and Safety” web page and “Annual Meeting FAQs” web page for more detailed information.

You are probably wondering about what circumstances would cause a cancellation of the in-person aspect of the SOT meeting. SOT will meet in San Diego, March 27–31, 2022, unless health authorities or governments ban large in-person gatherings or close businesses, merchants, and travel operations as happened at the start of the pandemic in March 2020. California has strict public health guidelines in place for in-person events to protect its residents and visitors and continues to update its requirements as warranted by the current public health situation. For example, in-person gatherings are continuing in California, but masks currently are required for large indoor meetings and conferences. SOT will follow public health guidelines and establish protocols to ensure the safety of SOT attendees, staffs, vendors, and partners.

As a reminder, all meeting registrations include the 2022 enhanced meeting experience, which provides access to livestreams of most Scientific Sessions with live question-and-answer sessions and on-demand recordings of those same sessions.

Remember that the late-breaking abstract submission period has begun, with submissions due by 11:59 pm (EST) on Saturday, January 15, and the early-bird registration deadline is at the end of the month, on Friday, January 28.
