I required an   additional   six months to complete the   article   dissertation submissions necessary for my doctoral degree; however, I lacked the necessary funding. My late thesis advisor, Dr. Thomas G. Akers, promptly reached out to an individual whose name   remains   unknown to me, who without hesitation generously donated $5,000 to support my writing efforts. SOT has learned that Kenneth L. Hastings, DrPH, DABT, ATS, passed away on January 2, 2026. For the bulk of his career, Dr. Hastings worked for the US Food and Drug Administration, serving in various roles, centers, and offices. In later years, he worked for Sanofi US and as an independent consultant. This blog serves as an announcement of the member’s passing. Family, friends, and colleagues are welcome to develop a more detailed tribute for publication by SOT.  #InMemoriam
